Eastport Elementary
North Point Builders was the General Contractor for the Eastport Elementary kindergarten addition in Anne Arundel County. At the time, the school was using portable classrooms to temporarily accommodate their students. Due to the increasing enrollment rate, the school was in critical need of more classroom space.
The new 10,000 square foot addition is comprised of four kindergarten classrooms, each having their own individual restroom. A new main entrance and lobby area was constructed to connect the existing building to the addition. The project also included a new playground and site work.
Special Challenges
Because the school is located in a highly populated area, North Point Builders administered extra safety precautions to allow public access to the school. In order to maintain vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow, North Point Builders carefully scheduled deliveries and installation times with subcontractors and coordinated work with the school staff to ensure school activities could continue as normally as possible.
