Westminster Elementary
North Point Builders was the General Contractor for the Westminster Elementary school Renovation in Carroll County, Maryland. The school’s original open concept floorplan was not an ideal learning environment for students and teachers. After years of noisy and distracting classrooms, the school needed to enclose these open spaces to provide teachers and students with a private classroom setting.
The 60,000 square foot school renovation included new classroom partition walls, administrative office upgrades, door and partitions in the Media Center, and a new sprinkler system throughout the building. Three portable classrooms were refurbished and relocated on the school property.

The project required six phases as the school was fully occupied. Temporary classrooms were created to accommodate students and staff during each phase. In order to maintain the phased schedule, the project required careful planning, detailed scheduling, and intense monitoring of deliveries and installation times. By implementing the phasing plan, the project was completed within the original timeframe and maintained the school’s daily operations with minimal impact.
