Odenton Elementary
North Point Builders was the General Contractor for the Odenton Elementary School addition and renovation in Anne Arundel County. Prior to the addition, the school was operating out of modular classrooms. This temporary setup increased the urgency for the project to be completed as quickly as possible. The construction schedule was specially developed to accommodate ongoing school activities.
The 30,000 square foot two-story addition includes 5 kindergarten classrooms on the first floor and 6 additional classrooms on the second floor. To join the existing building to the new addition, a connecting corridor structure was installed with an outside landscaped courtyard area. Renovations for this project included four existing classrooms and existing infrastructure including the boilers, electrical and sprinkler systems.
Special Challenges
North Point Builders overcame many challenges and maintained logistic requirements throughout the construction process. It was imperative that North Point Builders maintain a safe exterior and interior environment for everyone on the school campus. Access routes for emergency vehicles, bus traffic, and pedestrians were regularly maintained for safety reasons and for avoiding interrupting the school’s daily activities.

Throughout the duration, North Point’s collective construction expertise identified areas of value engineering, much of which was acted upon, effectively saving the Owner money.
