Gough Park
North Point Builders was the Design Build Contractor for Gough Park – a multipurpose field complex located in Perry Hall, Maryland. The Perry Hall/White Marsh area had been planning for this park for over a decade to overcome a shortage of athletic playing fields for the community. “This is a real investment in the health and quality of life for our residents in the Perry Hall and White Marsh areas,” said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.
As the Design-Build Contractor, North Point Builders was responsible for all design, owner and user program development, and permitting for Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks.
The new park spans over 17 acres and consists of stormwater management, new pavilions and picnic areas, concession stand, and comfort station with restrooms, athletic fields and ball diamonds with lighting, bleachers and benches, asphalt walking trails, concrete sidewalks, and parking lots.
Special Challenges
The project was located in a highly dense residential area. Due to the fact that the project included new lights for the athletic fields, the lighting design needed to provide adequate lighting for the fields without leaking excessive lighting tot the surrounding residences. North Point Builders collaborated with Baltimore County through multiple design scenarios and developed a lighting solution that successfully accomplished meeting the needs of the athletes and surrounding residential community.
